Learning a foreign language is not simply an act of learning to speak words and conjugate verbs.  Language lives in a cultural, historical, and artistic context that defines how a language behaves and changes meaning and intent.  Therefore, in my class you will learn grammar and vocabulary, of course, but also a lot of culture.  We have a lot of projects that encompas speaking, reading, writing, AND and incorporation of culture.  And, since speaking is the primary way in which we communicate, you will be speaking A LOT in our class.
